Before you start coming up with a design for your office, you need to consider the needs of your business. You may require certain equipment, fixings and fasteners for your operations and it is important that the office you choose and renovate has space and capability for this. Consider things carefully and ensure that every need of your business can be met by the office you choose.

Think about buying an office space like buying a house. When you buy a house, you want to know what the surrounding area is like and what facilities are close by. Ideally, an office space should be centralised and have easy transport links as well as parking for staff. You’ll want food facilities close by for ease as well as a safe neighbourhood. Consider crime rates in the area and choose your spot wisely to ensure the safety of you as well as everyone else in your business.

Even in the middle of a bustling city it is important to give your employees fresh air. So many office spaces lack an outdoor space and this can be detrimental to the mental and physical health of all who work for you. If you have a space at the back of your property consider creating an outdoor garden and seating area for people to enjoy. If you don’t but you have a roof or balcony, create a rooftop terrace that everyone can enjoy throughout the day. It may not seem essential but it is more important than you think.

If you want to create a working space that has maximum productivity and concentration, light is a must. Lightbulbs and LED lights do not provide enough light for healthy and alert working, so you want to install as many windows as possible. Natural light changes mood, keeps people focussed, and allows people to take a break from staring at the computer when they need to. 

  1. Curb appeal 

The first impression you make to outsiders or prospective employees is crucial for your business. When renovating and designing your office it is important to pay close attention to the front doorway and foyer. When a person approaches your office they should see a clear sign with your branding on, and to make your business feel more down to Earth, a hanging basket or two won’t go amiss.
